$2.99

This table was $2.99.
I HAD TO BUY IT.  Seriously?  $2.99?  Granted, this picture does not do the dirt and peeling paint justice.  But, it took me about 10 minutes to clean it and then lightly scrape/sand any loose paint away.  The table I originally picked up for Stella from a garage sale, just didn't fit the space right (so sell it for twice as much on Craig's List, right?).
The drawer did not have a knob before. So, I picked this sweet glass knob up from Hobby Lobby.  When they have a 50% off on knobs (which doesn't happen often), you should seriously buy enough knobs for your entire house.  They are cheaper than the basic knob at Home Depot or Lowe's but unique.
It is a flower; perfect for her room.

Like it a Lot

Simple, easy, cheap, but I like it a lot.

First, buy a cheap frame...like $2 from Goodwill.   Punch out the glass and dated picture.
Get yo'self some supplies from a craft store; sample paint from a hardware store.
Mmm...loving this color.
Now, this part is important.  DO NOT leave the sample paint on a table where a toddler could climb on a chair and stretch across to reach the paint pod, where she would then open it, accidentally spill it on the one year old carpet, and then cry because it got on her finger, all while Mama is getting a drink for a baby (we are talking like a minute people).
I had to "mess" mine a little bit with some sand paper.  Screw hooks in on sides, then thread the frame wire and snip, snip, snip.
It is good for special cards from Grammies and pictures...
Or a toddlers artwork...preferably done on paper, not carpet.
*note: carpet eventually did come clean of bright aqua paint the diameter of a melon with lots of water and soaking.

TaDa! Completion!

Remember the window frames I mentioned a few weeks ago?  I have finished them.  I got this idea from another blogger who did this with a french door.  I lost my link to her and can not remember her blog name.  If anyone knows, please comment - she also has a great "how to."   I couldn't find an old french door, but found these old windows instead ($1 for both).   I painted and distressed the windows, made mattings from fabric and fixed the pictures to them with double sided tape.

This black one is for my parents.

This one if for the girls' bathroom.   Their bathroom is accented with black and white with cream walls.  I chose a bright color and whimsical fabric to make the room more youthful.

EDITED 03/17:
Thanks for the comments everyone!  Monica - thank you for the link to the french door tutorial.  She definitely deserves the credit for this idea.  Here is the window on the wall in the bathroom:

I just screwed some hooks onto the back and used the wall hooks that hold up to 25 lbs to hang this.  Sarah, I first did a light sanding on the window frame and then painted it with e semi-gloss.  Following that I sanded the edges  down a little bit.  The window had been painted white before so some of showed through after I lightly sanded it.  I liked that.  For the photos...I bought a large poster size card stock from Hobby Lobby.  I then measured the window size using a piece of paper, cut it and then used that for the template to trace and cut my card stock squares.   I cut the fabric squares a little larger than the card stock and then hot glued them to the card stock.  The photos being level really was trial and error - I am decent at "eye balling" that thankfully.  I adhered them to the fabric squares with a few pieces of double sided tape (I didn't want to do anything too permanent).  Once placed in the window panels, I tacked in one framing nail in each opening to secure the picture.   Hopefully this makes sense...next time I will do a better job of documenting the process!

Busy Bee

I have so much to share! I have been a very busy Mama and may have one too many projects started.  I did, recently completed a couple that I will share.  Then I will play catch up on blogging with the kids and events like Esme's first solids, Stella's pink boots, and Ben's first ENTIRE day with the girls alone (we are talking 9 hours people)!
But first...my art project for my soul sister, Kara.  Not sure if she will like it, but it was fun and kept my hands busy.

Now, for the biggie...I must share some history with this.  I found a project about a month ago I wanted to tackle that required either an old door or window.  My mom and I ventured to the ReStore Habitat warehouse and I picked up two old windows for $1!!!  More on that later.  On our way back we stopped by the Goodwill store.  I was feeling pretty lucky about my old wooden windows (50 cent each!), that I thought "who knows, maybe something else will shout out at me."  Then I saw this beauty...

Pretty awful, right?  But it was only $5, and something was telling me this could be great.  What you can not see from these pictures is that this baby is solid wood; not composite, not particle board...solid wood.  My Mom and I had to have someone carry it to the car (that says a lot because my Mom is pretty mighty).

So I have been thinking about colors until I was looking through my latest Pottery Barn Magazine (yes I realize it is a catalog, but I treat them like a magazine - I learn and inspire from them)!  This is the "IN" color for accent furniture:

This is Pottery barn $179 - so cute.

Here is my $5 table:

I am in love with our new end table that will hold diaper supplies downstairs.
